SHILAJIT

Shilajit: energy from the rock.
The notoriety of this phytocomplex comes from Chinese medicine, which has been using it as a rejuvenator and anti-aging compound for centuries. Shilajit is an exudate of Himalayan rock, particularly rich in mineral salts, which develops over centuries in the depths of the rocks. In addition to the mountain regions of Asia, including some regions of the Himalayas and the Caucasus, it can also be found in Iran, Mongolia and southern Peru.
Before being treated, it looks like a muddy substance with the pungent smell of burnt incense. After harvesting, it is purified in several steps for over a month with spring water, until it is reduced to a third. After this first procedure, it is dried in the sun and finally pulverized with a mortar.
The alleged beneficial properties of Shilajit are attributable to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. Probably, the healing properties that have been attributed to Shilajit depend on the significant levels of fulvic acid, known for its strong antioxidant actions. It is also believed that it may have beneficial effects on memory to stimulate cognitive activities, and that it may help improve energy and vitality.
In traditional Ayurvedic medicine, Shilajit is used to provide numerous health benefits, such as increased longevity, action on genitourinary and digestive disorders, in case of chronic bronchitis and anemia, to control diabetes and as a germicide for external use.
